WWE hopes to return to Saudi Arabia this year | Wrestling News

WWE has not held an event in Saudi Arabia up to this point this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, that could change.

WWE has a 10-year partnership with the Saudi General Sports Authority and the company is paid big money to host two events in the country per year.

WWE held its Super ShowDown pay-per-view event in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia at the Mohammed Abdou Arena last February. They were originally looking at returning in late October or early November that same year, but the pandemic started.

WWE typically holds an event in the first few months of each year and then returns later in the year for the second show.

WrestleVotes reported today that WWE holding a show in the country later this year is something on the table.

“Two WWE sources indicate that an event in Saudi Arabia prior to the end of 2021 is very much on the table.”

It’s been previously reported before that WWE hopes to start touring at the end of this summer or early fall. Also, WWE has plans to hold SummerSlam with fans in attendance.
