WWE Drops ‘Scorpion Deathlock’ Reference During RAW

Triple H introduced much-needed changes as soon as he became WWE’s Chief Content Officer. The Game restored the identity of many WWE superstars in addition to focusing on the story-telling aspect of the business. The changes continued on Raw this week as well.

Kevin Owens and Johnny Gargano squared off against The Alpha Academy, Otis and Chad Gable, in tag team action tonight on Raw. At one point during the match, KO got Chad Gable in a classic submission move. Then Corey Graves referred to the move by its name, Scorpion Death Lock.

SCORPION DEATHLOCK!

Most of the time, this move is called a Sharpshooter. Sting, someone who has a history of working for the opposition, including AEW, uses the Scorpion Deathlock. This also begs the question of, “what’s the big difference?” Obviously, the difference in the name caused waves during RAW.

Owens and Gargano would end up winning the match despite Austin Theory’s interference. Backstage, Gable received a call from Braun Strowman who challenged him to a singles match next week on Raw in Gable’s hometown of Minneapolis.
