WWE aired the wrong footage of Legacy Wing inductee at Hall of Fame ceremony | Wrestling News
This past Tuesday during the Hall of Fame ceremony, WWE inducted 10 wrestling legends into the Legacy Wing of the Hall of Fame.
For the 2020 wing, WWE announced Baron Michele Leone, Brickhouse Brown, “Dr. Death” Steve Williams, Gary Hart, and Ray “The Crippler” Stevens. On the flip side, the 2021 wing included Buzz Sawyer, Dick The Bruiser, Ethel Johnson, Paul Boesch, and Pez Whatley.
Dave Meltzer noted during today’s Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE used the wrong video footage for Johnson, who won the NWA World Women’s Tag Team Championship with June Byers. WWE mistakenly used footage of another wrestler, Sandy Parker, during her Hall of Fame video package.
WWE has yet to comment on the mistake, but members of Ethel’s family have taken to social media to let WWE know that they need to correct the error.
Y’all need to fix this because if you’re going to use my aunt Ethel in the hall of fame at least reach out to the family! And the video you guys used isn’t her! https://t.co/3R4HvRFnW8
