Samoa Joe explains why he won’t give a timetable for his in-ring return | Wrestling News

Samoa Joe made the transition from being an in-ring wrestler to a commentator on WWE Raw last year.

Joe reportedly suffered a concussion in January 2020 that briefly kept him on the sidelines. In February 2020, it was reported that he suffered an injury while filming a commercial for the company. At the time, it was stated Joe hit his head during a bad table break as they were filming a stunt, which is when the injury happened. It was reported Joe would be out of action for a considerable amount of time.

Joe recently spoke with Rick Ucchino of Sportskeeda about his in-ring status. This is where he stated that he wouldn’t give a timetable for his return.

“As far as the timetable, no. I just want to reassure people that you know this point, WWE medical is doing the best for my health and my well-being, and I’m appreciative of it, so we’re taking our time. We’re making sure that I’m as healthy as I can be. I think that’s essentially it. I’m not putting a timetable on it because the type of injury is not something that I want to rush, obviously, for obvious reasons. I mean, that’s essentially the update.

I mean, and obviously, too, there’s been some holdups from a technical standpoint with the pandemic going on and availability of medical personnel, but for the most part, we’re taking a careful, measured approach. Though I don’t think my in-ring career is over by a longshot I’m appreciative of the recovery time. That my health is being respected at a premium.”
