After WWE decided not to renew her contract in July, Saraya became a free agent in early July. Fightful Select reports that AEW made contact with her not long after she hit the market, and there was word as far back as Starrcast weekend that AEW had an interest in her.
Per the report, Saraya has agreed to a three-year contract with AEW, although it’s unclear whether option years are at play, which is common with AEW deals. It was said that the amount of money it was signed for “largely implies that she’ll be wrestling in some capacity.”
Numerous AEW wrestlers went to bat for Saraya and put in good words, but one AEW name said “she didn’t need it, since there was interest when she became available.”
