Joey Styles files trademark for his wrestling name | Wrestling News

Joseph Bonsignore, better known as Joey Styles, filed a new trademark to secure his wrestling name on February 25th with The United States Patent and Trademark Office.

The trademark was filed under entertainment services. He attached a statement with the filing by noting that he previously owned multiple trademarks for the name, which dates back to 2001. In 2019, he got a notification from the USPTO noting that his registration was canceled.

The reason for it being canceled was due to him not providing the proper documentation requested. He needed to provide proof he used it for each class of goods and services. He has done that.

Bonsignore was the voice of ECW. When the promotion went out of business in 2001, he went to work for WWE where he appeared on WWE programming between 2005 and 2008 in addition to his work on the WWE website. After departing from WWE in 2016, he went to work for EVOLVE, but was later let go that year due to him making an offensive statement on-air.

WFAN’s Craig Carton recently came out and stated that he was supposed to be the Joey Styles character. Paul Heyman responded to the claim.
