Joey Ryan mentions Colt Cabana in harsh response to CM Punk | Wrestling News

Joey Ryan took to Twitter earlier this week to note that he has decided to dismiss his defamation lawsuit against former ROH star Pelle Primeau. Ryan filed the multi-million dollar lawsuit last year after “#SpeakingOut” allegations were made against him.

CM Punk responded to Ryan’s tweet by noting that he wanted him to dismiss it with prejudice, which means Ryan can no longer pursue a lawsuit against the independent wrestler as the statute of limitations have not expired.

Ryan has since responded to Punk by bringing up a lawsuit that pitted Punk and Colt Cabana against WWE doctor Chris Amann due to Punk’s comments on Cabana’s “Art of Wrestling” podcast from November of 2014.

After this lawsuit, both Punk and Cabana filed lawsuits against each other. Cabana sued Punk for breach of contract and fraud as he alleged that Punk made a promise to help him with his legal bills during the lawsuit against the WWE doctor as the legal bills would be “100% covered.” That didn’t happen.

In a response at the time, Punk filed a countersuit against Colt Cabana. It has since been settled.
