Jim Crockett Jr. has passed away at 76 | Wrestling News

We are sad to report that Jim Crockett, Jr. has passed away at the age of 76.

Crockett had been put in hospice care a few days ago after battling liver and kidney failure. Word began to spread last week that he was in grave condition.

Crockett Jr.’s father founded Jim Crockett Promotions. The promotion was eventually taken over by Crockett Jr. in 1977 and he became the president of the NWA in 1980. Crockett Jr. sold the company in 1988 to Ted Turner. At that point, the company was renamed World Championship Wrestling.

The news of Crockett Jr.’s passing first broke on social media via Robert Gibson’s Facebook page. We send our deepest condolences to Crockett’s friends and family.
