Injury Causes WWE NXT To Nix Planned Title Match

You never know what can happen in pro wrestling. Injuries can be around any corner because the ring is a very unpredictable place to work. That is what happened to Wes Lee of MSK, and now the newcomers won’t get an NXT Tag Team Title shot as planned.

During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that WWE NXT planned for a Tag Team Championship match this week on the show. Wes Lee injured himself during a dive at TakeOver and broke his hand. Now MSK will have to wait for their shot.

“Wes Lee did have a broken hand. He suffered that injury against the Grizzled Young Veterans on the TakeOver show on one of his dives. So, that’s why there’s no tag team title match with Lorcan and Burch vs MSK that was originally scheduled for Wednesday’s show, because he’s hurt.”

MSK’s big Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic win will not be directly followed by a title match. There will be other opportunities down the line for the former Rascalz.

Hopefully, a broken hand won’t keep Wes Lee out of action for long. He was injured during one of the biggest matches of his career, and that’s terrible timing. MSK is still set to be a top team in NXT. It would be nice if they can avoid any further injuries to make sure that happens.
