Hikaru Shida gets her 50th win and advances in tournament; Britt Baker vs. Abadon set for Rampage – Diva Dirt

Hikaru Shida becomes the first woman in AEW history to make it to 50 wins.

Earlier this month, Shida took on a returning Serena Deeb with her 50th win in her sight. Deeb destroyed those plans and defeated Shida on the Oct. 6 episode of Dynamite. On this week’s Dynamite, however, Shida faced Deeb once again and this time the outcome was in Shida’s favor.

Not only did this win hit a milestone for Shida’s win count, but it was a first-round tournament match to determine the inaugural TBS Women’s Champion. She has not advanced to face Nyla Rose in the quarter-finals. Rose earned a first-round bye as the result of her being in the top five of the women’s rankings. But what shape will Shida be in once she faces Rose?

After the match, Deeb unleashed an attack on Shida. The woman of 1,000 holds continued to prove why she has that nickname as she continued to wrench on the knee of Shida after hitting her with numerous chair shots. Eventually, enough officials were able to pull Deeb off of Shida.

Upcoming matches for both Rampage and Dynamite have been announced. In a Trick or Treat No Disqualification match this Friday on Rampage,

Dr. Britt Baker will be going one-on-one with Abadon in a non-title match. If Abadon is able to defeat Baker then she will earn a future championship opportunity. Currently, Baker is set to defend her title at Full Gear against Tay Conti.

For next week’s Dynamite, the TBS Women’s Title Tournament first-round continues as Jamie Hayter takes on Anna Jay. The winner of this match will move on to the quarter-finals to take on Thunder Rosa.

Ruby Soho has already advanced from her first-round match against Penelope Ford. Soho is waiting to face Kris Statlander in the quarter-finals. One final first-round match is to come after Hayter/Jay and that will be The Bunny vs. Red Velvet. The winner of Bunny/Velvet will take on Jade Cargill.
