Bobby Lashley has talked about wanting to wrestle Brock Lesnar for years and it turns out that not only does he have a personal desire to make it happen, but he was actually told by WWE management that it would happen when he made his return to the company in 2018.
A fan asked during the Q&A portion of today’s Wrestling Observer Radio about the possibility of Lesnar coming out and challenging the winner of Edge vs. Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 37.
This led to Dave Meltzer mentioning that WWE actually promised Lashley when he returned to the company in 2018 that he would get a match with Lesnar, but it’s never been booked.
“You know they never did that match so it’s something new. You know when Bobby Lashley came in he was told that he was going to get Brock and that was years ago. It just never materialized. They just never got around to it. It’s not that they couldn’t do it, they just never got around to it.”
It should be noted that Lesnar is currently not under contract with WWE and there have been no recent reports about when he’ll return. He also doesn’t have a match lined up for WrestleMania. The overall belief has been when WWE can run big shows with fans in attendance then the two sides will work out an agreement. Lashley recently called out Lesnar and even had a message for Paul Heyman.
