Big Swole on AEW’s women’s division putting in the work and should main event – Diva Dirt

It is no secret that the women’s division falls under heavy scrutiny when it comes to booking in AEW. The women on the roster certainly work hard and put in the effort but when it comes to showcasing what they can do it is always on the back burner.

We are currently in the midst of the Women’s Title Eliminator Tournament which is going to determine a new number one contender for the AEW Women’s World Title. Although this is giving more matches for the women it also is receiving criticism about how it is airing much like the former Deadly Draw Tag Team tournament had.

Big Swole, who is not participating in the tournament, recently spoke with Busted Open Radio about the upcoming Revolution event. She feels that the women should main event it.

“I believe we are putting in the work where we can main event. We should main event. If you have something that is heating up — Shida, she can main event Revolution. It’s something that would also lift the spirits of the women as well. It’s a win-win.”

It has been over a month since we have seen Big Swole in the ring when she took on Alex Gracia on AEW Dark. She came out with a victory in that match and has been on a winning streak for several months. It was a surprise that she wasn’t included in the current women’s tournament. She spoke on her absence as follows:

“I’m taking some time. I was a little heated for a couple of minutes, but I’m doing better. I’m getting back to being 100% healthy. I had a very rough year.”

The tournament will continue tonight on YouTube with the last two U.S. first-round matches of Tay Conti vs. Nyla Rose and Britt Baker vs. Anna Jay. The semi-finals of the Japan side will also take place on YouTube tonight with Yuka Sakazaki vs. Emi Sakura and Ryo Mizunami vs. Aja Kong.

What do you make of Big Swole’s sentiment about the AEW women’s division? Leave your thoughts below and check back in with Diva Dirt for the results of these tournament match-ups.
