Big E considers Asuka a generational talent – “there’s never going to be another Asuka” – Diva Dirt

Asuka is poised and ready to defend her RAW Women’s Title on tonight’s second night of WrestleMania 37 against Rhea Ripley. Asuka has had several WrestleMania appearances and even walked in last year with Kairi Sane as the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions. They lost the titles to Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross at last year’s event.

Although Asuka is a Grand Slam Champion, she hasn’t been able to pull out a win at WrestleMania. As the first Royal Rumble winner in 2018, she wasn’t able to capitalize and defeat Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania 34 for the SmackDown Women’s Title. This ended Asuka’s winning streak as well.

While speaking in a recent episode of Busted Open podcast, current Intercontinental Champion Big E spoke very highly of The Empress of Tomorrow.

“Asuka, to me, is one of my favorite wrestlers male or female on the planetThe issue with Asuka is she hasn’t had the same machine behind her to make her feel like — she hasn’t had the same opportunities to have these massive WrestleMania moments as the others have. It’s hard to put her in the same vain when you look at her track record. If you want to talk about ability and charisma, what she was doing during the pandemic era, she was wildly entertaining on commentary and matches. She’s a generational talent. There’s never going to be another Asuka.” [Transcription credit: Fightful]

The match between Asuka and Rhea Ripley could honestly go either way on tonight’s part two of WrestleMania. Asuka hasn’t received that big win at Mania whereas Ripley is new to the main roster. Ripley had her first big WrestleMania match last year and wasn’t able to retain the NXT Women’s Title against Charlotte. This will be a first-time one-on-one match between these two competitors.

Do you think that Asuka will get her big win by retaining the RAW Women’s Title tonight or do you think that Ripley will get her moment? Leave your thoughts below.
