Batista addresses fan question about possibly appearing at AEW Revolution | Wrestling News

There is a lot of speculation regarding who will be the big surprise that Paul Wight is teasing for Sunday’s AEW Revolution pay-per-view event.

During Wednesday’s Dynamite episode, the former WWE star noted that AEW is going to sign a “Hall of Fame-worthy talent” at the show and it’s not who you think. He did mess up the line by saying Evolution instead of Revolution, but the point was still made.

Because he said “Evolution” and “Hall of Fame-worthy talent,” one fan asked Batista if he would be the surprise. Batista was supposed to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame last year, but that got nixed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Although not confirmed by WWE, the belief is that the Hall of Fame ceremony will take place in a virtual setting over WrestleMania 37 weekend.

Batista retired from pro wrestling after losing to Triple H at WrestleMania 35 in 2019. He has shifted his focus back on being a full-time actor.

The fan wrote, “Wait… @PaulWight said “Evolution” instead of Revolution was that on purpose? He says “hall of fame worthy” too. So gotta ask @DaveBautista just curious where you will be this Sunday?”

Batista responded with, “They’re going to have to come up with another word that’s used specifically for professional wrestlers who actually mean it when they say they’re retired. Currently the word “retired” has zero credibility by professional wrestling standards.”
