Another WrestleMania match finish that was changed the week of the show | Wrestling News

It was previously reported that WWE changed the finish of the WrestleMania 37 match between Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt, who was portraying his Fiend character.

Originally, Wyatt was supposed to go over with the idea that it would give Orton a way to take time off. However, WWE decided over the weekend that Orton should go over and he did.

Also, Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that the finishes for several WrestleMania matches were changed just hours before the show.

Fightful Select reported today that Matt Riddle was supposed to retain his WWE United States Championship over Sheamus on this show. However, the decision was made the week of the show to have Sheamus dethrone “The Original Bro.” This surprised many fans and bettors.

The report stated the decision to have Sheamus win was a way to continue the feud. It should be noted that Sheamus wasn’t on Monday’s Raw while Riddle got beat by WWE Champion Bobby Lashley.
