AEW Women’s Title Eliminator Tournament match to air on Bleacher Report | Wrestling News

AEW President Tony Khan has announced the quarterfinal match in the AEW Women’s World Title Eliminator Tournament between Thunder Rosa and Riho will air for free on Bleacher Report on Sunday, February 28.

Khan made the announcement on his Twitter account by writing the following:

“The #AEW Women’s World Championship Eliminator Tournament USA semifinal bout featuring former AEW Women’s World Champion Riho vs. former NWA Women’s World Champion Thunder Rosa streams on Bleacher Report on February 28th on a free Sunday Special, one week before Revolution PPV!”

This is being done to further push the AEW Revolution pay-per-view event on March 7th, which will air on BR Live. Khan followed up with other tweets where he mentioned that he was pushing for a Sunday show on the platform to get fans ready because AEW has never previously run a PPV event on Sunday.

Dave Meltzer noted on F4Wonline.com that there will be either two or three matches on the special show. Aside from the Riho vs. Rosa match, the final of the Japanese bracket of the tournament will also be part of the special.

The winner of the Japanese bracket match will be making an appearance on the March 3rd edition of Dynamite to face the winner of the American bracket (the Rosa vs. Riho winner against whoever advances from the other half of the American bracket). So far left on the US side of the tournament are Anna Jay,  Britt Baker, Tay Conti, and Nyla Rose in addition to Rosa and Riho. The US bracket final will air on March 1 on YouTube.

Once the finals of the tournament are done on March 3rd, the winner will challenge Hikaru Shida for the Women’s Title on March 7th at Revolution.
