Who won the NASCAR race yesterday? Complete results from Sunday’s Homestead race



The winner of Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Homestead-Miami Speedway charged from the back to the front and wound up dominating for much of the race.

William Byron claimed the victory in the Dixie Vodka 400 after starting 31st. He won by 2.777 seconds over Tyler Reddick, who charged through the field during a 60-lap green-flag run to the finish.

Who won the NASCAR race yesterday?

William Byron’s No. 24 Chevrolet got better as the race moved from afternoon to night and the track surface cooled. He led a race-high 102 of the 267 laps and drove off to a comfortable win over a late-charging Tyler Reddick.

“It was just a really smooth day,” said Byron, who won Stage 2 after finishing fourth in the opening 80-lap stage. “We worked hard in the winter on this track. I can’t believe it.”

Byron had been in Homestead’s victory lane once before. He won in the Truck Series in the last race of 2016. His crew chief then is his crew chief now: Rudy Fugle.

After Byron and Reddick, it was Martin Truex Jr., Kyle Larson, Kevin Harvick, Daytona 500 winner Michael McDowell, Ryan Newman, Kurt Busch, Alex Bowman and Kyle Busch completing the top 10. 

The win was the 264th in the NASCAR Cup Series for Hendrick Motorsports, leaving the organization four victories behind Petty Enterprises for most all time.
