Super Bowl 57 uniform colors revealed for Eagles, Chiefs

The Philadelphia Eagles have let it be known what uniform combination they’ll be donning for Super Bowl 57.

One of the hot topics every year is which color the Super Bowl teams will be wearing for the big game.

Both the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs released a few snaps of their jerseys being prepped for the Super Bowl, which includes all the normal things — like captain patches or in the Chiefs’ case, an AFC patch — with one special element added: The Super Bowl patch.

As it is every year, the patch is the logo from that year’s Super Bowl. Here’s the backstory behind the blue and red LVII logo that features the Lombardi Trophy in the middle.

And, OK, yeah, let’s stop beating around the bush and show you those jerseys. The game is coming up quickly, after all!

Eagles won first Super Bowl in franchise history in the color they’re wearing

The Eagles are rocking the midnight green jerseys for the big game. Outside of the murdered-out black jerseys, black pants, and black helmets, which could be considered bad taste for the big game, this is the best choice. It’s a classic and the color is unlike any other color used by an NFL team. The only thing close is the Jaguars’ teal.

When the Eagles won Super Bowl 52 over the New England Patriots, they wore the same jerseys. So Eagles fans will instantly get a flashback to epic moments like the Philly special when they see another Super Bowl patch on these uniforms.

Chiefs aren’t going to go against superstitions

The Chiefs are the ‘home’ team and got to choose which color uniform they’ll wear.

36 of the 56 Super Bowl champions have worn white jerseys. Coincidence? I think not! The Chiefs aren’t testing out their ability to go against that trend twice (they won their most recent Super Bowl in February 2020 in red).

In reality, statistically, while almost 65 percent of the games have gone to the team in white, there are plenty of factors at play. Probably not worth basing a wager off of a jersey color. But you do you!
