The Boston Red Sox take on the Minnesota Twins to open spring training.
The Sox will turn to Nathan Eovaldi to get their grapefruit league campaign off to a good start. Eovaldi can be inconsistent at times, but when he’s on, he’s elite. The Red Sox found this out for themselves in the 2018 postseason.
Boston’s lineup features a few regulars, including Christian Vazquez, Rafael Devers and Michael Chavis. It’ll also feature the Red Sox debut of free agent acquisition Hunter Renfroe, who is batting third in the lineup.
What should Red Sox fans expect in Boston’s spring training debut?
It’s important for Boston to take things slow to open up what will be a long season. The Red Sox are readjusting to a 162-game season, just like every other team in the sport. With that in mind, expect Eovaldi to go 2-3 innings at most just to get his feet wet.
While it’s not Opening Day just yet, baseball is back in some form. Enjoy it!
