Porto face Juventus at Estadio do Dragao on Wednesday, Feb. 17. Here’s all the info you need to watch this Champions League match.
The Champions League returns on Wednesday with Porto hosting Juventus at Estadio do Dragao in the first leg of the round of 16. Porto are heavy underdogs to advance against the reigning Italian champions. The Dragons finished second in Group C behind Manchester City. Juventus won their group, finishing ahead of Barcelona.
Despite not losing a game since Oct. 30, Porto are second in the Primeira Liga, seven points behind rival Sporting Lisbon. The Dragons have drawn three straights games going into the first leg. Porto are the smallest club remaining in the Champions League and the only club remaining that does not play in one of Europe’s top five leagues. If Porto are going to advance to the quarterfinal, they will have to win the first leg. Mehdi Taremi and Sergio Oliveira will play key roles for the Dragons. The duo has combined for 28 goals and 14 assists in all competitions.
Juventus have won nine straight Scudettos but their run atop the Serie A table looks like it will end this season. The Black and Whites are eight points behind Inter Milan after losing to Napoli over the weekend. Juventus would gladly see their run of Serie A championships end if it meant winning the Champions League for the first time since they defeated Ajax in 1996. Juventus are led by Cristiano Ronaldo, who despite being 36 years old, continues to perform at an extremely high level. Ronaldo has scored 23 goals in 26 games across all competitions this season.
