Manchester City 1-0 Arsenal: Nathan Ake goal knocks Mikel Arteta’s side out of FA Cup

Nathan Ake’s second-half strike saw Manchester City beat Premier League title rivals Arsenal 1-0 in the FA Cup fourth round.
Stefan Ortega started in goal for the hosts as one of two changes from the side who beat Wolves 3-0 in the Premier League at the weekend.
Nathan Ake came in for Aymeric Laporte but Joao Cancelo, Kyle Walker and Bernardo Silva were all among the substitutes for a third game running while Phil Foden remained out through injury.
Former City left-back Oleksandr Zinchenko had to make do with a place on the Arsenal bench as Kieran Tierney came into the defence as one of six changes following the 3-2 victory over Manchester United.
There was a first start for recent signing Leandro Trossard while Matt Turner, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Rob Holding, and Fabio Vieira came in for Aaron Ramsdale, Ben White, William Saliba, Martin Odegaard and Gabriel Martinelli – all named among the substitutes.
Holding was substituted at half-time after picking up a yellow card in an opening 45 minutes in which he fiercely battled with Erling Haaland.
City made the breakthrough in the 64th minute. Julian Alvarez, just on as a substitute, struck a shot against the post from distance.
Jack Grealish collected the loose ball and, after twisting and turning, played it back to Nathan Ake who slotted home a shot inside the far post.
