Man United midfielder Casemiro reveals how Ten Hag compares to Zidane and Ancelotti

Casemiro has hailed Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag as a “great manager” and compared the Dutchman to former bosses Zinedine Zidane and Carlo Ancelotti.

The Brazil international arrived at Old Trafford in August following a £60million move from Real Madrid.

The 30-year-old was handed his first Premier League start last weekend as the Red Devils picked up a 2-1 victory over Everton. Casemiro produced a man-of-the-match performance and even set up Cristiano Ronaldo for the match winning goal.

As well as his outing at Goodison Park, the Brazilian also played 80 minutes in both of his team’s Europa League victories over Omonia Nicosia.

Despite losing their first two games of the Premier League season, the Red Devils have improved. Ten Hag’s men have won five of their last six league games and are nine points adrift of leaders Arsenal.

Casemiro has been impressed with the approach of the new United manager. He told the club website: “I believe it’s his desire to win, his ambition and hard work.

“Not just him, but all the coaching staff. They always want to win, they never get complacent. They’re always looking to do something new, always wanting to make a difference in games.

“I believe Manchester United have a great manager, it was there to see at Ajax, I think he’s doing a good job here. It’s a diverse group of players, different players, I believe we’ll adapt to his style of play.”

During his illustrious career, Casemiro has worked with a number of world-renowned managers. When comparing Ten Hag to a couple of his former bosses, the Brazilian said: “Every manager has their own way of playing, their own way of leading.

“I’ve worked with [Carlo] Ancelotti and [Zinedine] Zidane, they are managers that want to win, which is the most important thing. Hard work and dedication, being intensely dedicated to the club, I think winning is a consequence of this – doing things right is essential.”

Casemiro claimed 18 major trophies during his time at Santiago Bernabeu. As well as winning five Champions League crowns, the player also won three La Liga titles.
