Celta de Vigo v Barcelona Live Commentary & Result, 06/11/2021, Primera División | Goal.com

9′ Gonzalez loses out to Aidoo, whose first thought is to go long towards Aspas. He’s bundled over by Lenglet as the ball bounces in front of them, but no free-kick is given to the home fans’ frustration.

7′ That goal has breathed some life into Barcelona who are now pushing forward with much more intent. It’s switched out to Fati on the left again, but this time he sets off too early and the flag goes up.

5′ It was a perfectly weighted throughball from Alba into Fati down the left to get the winger in behind Celta.

5′ FATI SCORES! It’s a perfectly timed run from him down the left, and it looks like Mallo has him covered, but the winger cuts inside from the byline. He curls his shot around the defender and into the far bottom corner for his second goal in as many games. 1-0 Barca!

4′ Barcelona are struggling to deal with Celta’s high press at the moment and Mingueza plays himself into trouble. He tries to dribble past Galan when he’s dispossessed and gets lucky as he wins a free-kick.

2′ CLOSE! Celta go for the direct approach as Nolito cushions the ball into Aspas’ path. Barca are asking for offside, but he times his run perfectly and takes a shot just inside the box. He goes for the near post, but it curls just wide.

1′ Depay gets the game underway for Barcelona!

The teams are out on the pitch now, with kick-off just moments away!

Barcelona have failed to win their last three LaLiga games (D1 L2), and they’ve lost their last two away from home without scoring – they last lost three consecutive away league games in December 2002 (three).

Barcelona have a lot of injury trouble at the moment so Barjuan names an unchanged side to the one that beat Dynamo on Tuesday in the Champions League, with Fati leading the line after scoring the winner in that match.

Eduardo Coudet makes five changes from the draw with Rayo Vallecano last time out, bringing in Mallo, Aidoo, Solari, Nolito and Aspas. Vazquez, Araujo and Beltran drop to the bench, Santi Mina is injured and Brais Mendes misses out through suspension.

BARCELONA SUBS: Luuk de Jong, Philippe Coutinho, Lazar Carevic, Samuel Umtiti, Yusuf Demir, Inaki Pena, Abdessamad Ezzalzouli, Riqui Puig, Ronaldo Araujo, Alejandro Balde.

BARCELONA STARTING XI (4-3-3): Marc-Andre ter Stegen; Oscar Mingueza, Eric Garcia, Clement Lenglet, Jordi Alba; Nicolas Gonzalez, Sergio Busquets, Frenkie de Jong; Pablo Gaviria, Ansu Fati, Memphis Depay.

CELTA VIGO SUBS: Franco Cervi, Miguel Baeza, Okay Yokuslu, Jugo Alvarez, Kevin Vazquez, Jose Manuel Fontan, Fran Beltran, Gaizka Campos, Nestor Araujo, Ruben Blanco.

CELTA VIGO STARTING XI (4-1-3-2): Matias Dituro; Hugo Mallo, Joseph Aidoo, Jeison Murillo, Javi Galan; Renato Tapia; Augusto Solari, Denis Suarez, Nolito; Thiago Galhardo, Iago Aspas.

This morning, Barcelona confirmed that ex-player Xavi will be taking over as first-team coach after Ronald Koeman’s sacking just over a week ago. Caretaker manager Sergi Barjuan is at the helm for one last time today though and has won one and drawn one of the games since taking over, with that win their first away from home this season (1-0 v Dynamo Kiev). As for Celta, they’ve struggled this season; they’ve won just three of their 12 games (D2 L7), with only one of those coming at home.
