College Football National Championship Odds on National Signing Day
National Signing Day is here as the future of college football is finalized today. This is the last day for recruits across the country sign their letter of intent to commit to the school of their choosing on Wednesday for next season.
Most of the recruits have committed already with only four top-100 recruits uncommitted, including the No. 2 ranked dual-threat QB, Jaden Rashada still undecided on where he will pursue his future after decommitting from Florida earlier this month. TCU and Arizona State are reportedly the two teams most likely to land the highly touted recruit.
There likely won’t be any odds shifting moves in the National Championship market on National Signing Day, but here are the updated odds one month removed from Georgia’s second straight title.
Georgia Favored to win third straight National Championship
The Bulldogs are the clear favorites to make it three titles in a row as of National Signing Day and are well represented on Wednesday, the second best recruiting class in the country per 247Sports.com, highlighted by five five-star recruits.
The team that has the best recruiting class is the second choice in the market, Alabama, who missed the College Football Playoff this past season, but are flush with talent to make it back next season. The team hasn’t been worse than second in the past four years in terms of recruiting rankings.
While these recruiting rankings may not impact the National Championship odds this coming season as freshmen may not play a massive role right away, it’s worth noting that Texas checks in third in the recruiting rankings this season, the second straight year with the Longhorns in the top five.
There’s still plenty of time to digest the National Signing Day information, as well as who transferred to new schools, but one thing is for sure: Georgia is the favorite to win the National Championship once again, but Alabama is not slowing down in the arms race for the top program in the sport.
