Lionel Messi scored two first-half goals as Barcelona defeated Getafe to stay alive in the La Liga title race.
Barca jumped back to third place behind Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid with 68 points, while a game in hand.
Messi’s first goal came in the 8th minute, but was quickly canceled out after Clement Lenglet booted in an own-goal four minutes later.
Barcelona recaptured the lead in the 28th minute when Getafe’s Sofian Chakla also gifted an own goal, with Messi padding the lead in the 33rd minute.
Enes Unai converted a penalty in the 69th minute for Getafe to make things interesting, but Ronald Araujo’s goal and Antoine Griezmann’s stoppage-time penalty in the waning minutes of the match sealed the three points.
