If you wondered what Bitcoin and basketball had in common with poker, then look no further – today seeing the SwC Poker ‘March Madness Bitcoin Poker Tournament Series’ kicking off, with tournaments coinciding with basketball game days!

The MMBPS, to give it its short name, is an 18-day affair running from March 18th until April 4th, with a slew of different events and ‘tip-off’ times on the schedule – as well as satties and leaderboard races to whet the appetite.

Running on a state of the art client, SwC – the very first Bitcoin poker room, offers cash games and SNGs, but it’s tournament time this month, with no-limit hold’em events mixed in with a variety of others to provide an excellent schedule.

40 tournaments on the schedule

The MMBPS has 40 tournaments for crypto-poker fans, with buy-ins ranging from 100 chips to 5000 chips (.005 BTC), and there are over 2 BTC in guarantees! At today’s prices that’s a hefty wedge of crypto/cash up for grabs.

Remember, the March Madness Bitcoin Poker Tournament Series only plays when the basketball matches are on, tip-offs matching the call to shuffle up and deal.

Having already run the Endless Quarantine Series, the Bitcoin Series of Poker, the Micro Series of Poker and many others, SwC Poker are expecting their MMBPS to be just as successful.

Leaderboard races and freerolls

The obligatory tournament leaderboard should prove especially attractive, with prizes for the top 10 and a freeroll for the top 32 finishers to be held on April 5th.

If you cash, you get points, and you can check out all the leaderboard rules and the points scoring system on the @SwCPoker Twitter feed.

MMBPS tl;dr!

  • 40 tournaments
  • 2 BTC guaranteed
  • Runs Thursday, March 18th to Sunday, April 4th
  • Leaderboard races
  • Satellites running for all events

About SwC Poker

Formerly named Seals With Clubs, SwC Poker was the very first Bitcoin poker room, almost singlehandedly revolutionising crypto-poker and boasting virtually every poker record in crypto.

In December of last year, SwC Poker’s world famous bitcoin Bad Beat Jackpot was hit and 1,402,351 chips turned into 1.4 Bitcoin.

Eight lucky players at the table shared in the windfall, but it was ‘Thisguy23’ who took the lion’s share, pocketing over 0.49 btc when his aces full lost out to ‘ToneVays’, who won the hand with quad kings and bagged 0.28 btc!
