The festival features six Omaha events, including two $5,200 buy-in Omaha High Rollers. Jouhkimainen says there are loads of opportunities to satellite in for less, with the tournaments an exciting proposition for new and experienced players alike.

“Omaha is way more action than No-Limit Hold’em, so it’s definitely worth trying if you haven’t before. Also, there’s definitely a bigger chance of amateur players running deep and winning, since the equities run more close than in no limit.”

“Try to always have nut draws,” he explains. “The biggest mistakes are calling with small straight or flush draws, especially in multiway pots.

“Try to select your hands well preflop to try and avoid those weaker draws I mentioned. When you’re shallow, there’s no need to splash around. Play small ball, and once you’ve got a big stack, feel free to get aggressive!”
