The Tech World Fights COVID in India and Other Good Deeds

The global pandemic has impacted various regions, players, and people across the globe. In some regions, the Covid-19 crisis is continuously growing worse but there is some light at the end of the tunnel.

The tech world and online gambling industry continues to show it is not just all play but dedicated to doing good and contributing to society.

Logitech Donates in India’s Time of Need

Logitech, the Switzerland-based computer peripherals-and-software manufacturer is donating $2 million in assistance to combat the growing Covid-19 crisis in India.

According to Logitech CEO, Bracken Darrell, it is the biggest donation ever made by the company. The donation was made to the initiative, Oxygen for India, which is an India/US-based public health research organisation centre for disease dynamics, economics and policy.

Where the grip of the pandemic is relaxing in various regions of the world, such as Europe and North America, it is growing worse in places such as India. Overwhelming the hospitals and crematoriums at this point in time.

Krafton, Inc., the South Korea-based video game developer and publisher also donated $200k earlier this year to assist in the relief efforts in India.

A Classy 20-year Celebration for Microgaming

The industry-leading software developer, Microgaming is celebrating 20 years on the Isle of Man. Instead of ridiculous parties and lavish internal spending, the iGaming giants made 20 charitable donations.

Microgaming is a major part of the island’s gaming sector and celebrates its two-decade anniversary with twenty donations to Manx charities. The donations were made via the PlayItForward corporate social responsibility scheme.

Donations include contributions to the North Ramsey Bowling Club, Ramsey Grammar School, and IOM Foodbank – as well as assisting in realising the dream of a young individual becoming a paramedic. The additional 16 donations will be made throughout the year.

Since its arrival to the Isle of Man in 2001, Microgaming has made a total of over £3.5 million contributions to local charities. Microgaming CEO, John Coleman says that such a special year deserves to go down in history in a special way.

A Slot for the Dogs

Relax Gaming also recently made headlines with the release of their Top Dawgs slot. The new online slot is an exciting casino game supporting ‘Adopt a Shelter Pet Day’. The purpose of the slot is to encourage players to take an ‘adopt, don’t shop’ approach when it comes to getting a furry friend.

It is no secret that there is a growing problem with homeless animals reaching shelters. Many of these animals are not considered when it comes to adoptions. They are thought to be too old, or simply not ‘aesthetically pleasing’. But Relax Gaming wants players to know that these animals have the most character and add something different and unique to your home!

Relax Gaming encourages a giving attitude with their team often producing independent initiatives to raise funds for pet shelters. The team puts their money where their mouth is, as the dogs shown in Top Dawgs are dogs adopted by Relax Gaming employees. The team completes runs and donation projects to raise funds for shelters across various regions including Spain and Malta.
