Who are the tallest current NBA players?

The tallest current NBA player is Boston Celtics center Tacko Fall, who is 7ft 5in tall (2.26m).

Senegal native Fall, who signed for the Celtics in 2019, has a wingspan of 8ft 2¼in (2.5m) and a standing reach of 10ft 2½in (3.11m) – both of which are all-time NBA records.

He also set the all-time league record for tallest height in shoes, measuring 7ft 7in (2.31m).

The second-tallest current NBA player is Boban Marjanovic, who plays for the Dallas Mavericks.

The Serbian is 7ft 4in tall (2.24m), and was the NBA’s tallest player before the Celtics signed Fall.

The third-tallest player in the NBA at the moment is Marjanovic’s teammate in Dallas, Kristaps Porzingis.

The Latvian big man, who was drafted at No. 4 overall by the New York Knicks in 2015, is 7ft 3in tall (2.21m)

The fourth-tallest active NBA player is Luke Kornet of the Chicago Bulls, who stands 7ft 2in tall (2.18m).

The fifth-tallest current player is Bol Bol of the Denver Nuggets, who is also 7ft 2in tall.

Who are the tallest players in NBA history?

Interestingly, Bol’s father, Manute Bol, is the joint-tallest player in NBA history, standing at 7ft 7in tall (2.31m)

The Sudanese-born centre, who played for the Washington Bullets, Golden State Warriors, Philadelphia 76ers and Miami Heat over the course of his career, is considered one of the best shot-blockers in the history of the league.

He also played alongside the shortest player in NBA history, Muggsy Bogues, during the 1987/88 season with the Bullets – Bogues stood 5ft 3in (1.60m) and their height difference was 28in (71cm).

Also standing at 7ft 7in is Gheorghe Muresan, who played for the Bullets/Wizards and the New Jersey Nets during his career.

The Romanian won the NBA’s Most Improved Player award in 1996, and led the league in field-goal percentage in both 1996 and 1997.

Shawn Bradley, who played 832 games for the 76ers, the Nets and the Mavericks, is next on the list at 7ft 6in (2.29m).

He is joined by Slavko Vranes, who played just one game in the NBA for the Portland Trail Blazers in 2004.

Rounding the list off is Yao Ming, the Chinese superstar who played eight seasons for the Houston Rockets between 2002 and 2011.

Standing at 7ft 6in (2.29m), Yao is the tallest player to be selected for the NBA All-Star Game, and the tallest player to be inducted into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.

He was the tallest active player in the NBA for much of his career, and set several franchise records in Houston.
